Education and educators have always been a priority to him. The passion to support education was instilled in him by his parents. Dallas has served on many boards and organizations during his 35-year career. Some of his national service includes being elected to and serving for nine years on the governing body of the Ford Dealer Council in Detroit, where he chaired the finance committee for three years. For 12 years, he consecutively served in a national capacity on the Ford Training Board that sets the training agenda and standards for all Ford and Lincoln dealers, along with the Ford Credit Advisory Board, which developed products and services for Ford and Lincoln financing customers. He was elected to and has served for 15 years on the Southern Quality Ford Dealer advertising board, representing Louisiana and southern Mississippi.

He is also passionate about healthcare and started with a position on the Christus Cabrini Foundation for four years. He then welcomed an opportunity to serve as a member of the Board of Directors for Christus Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria for nine years and was elected as the Board Chair for the final three years. He helped create the Christus Health Louisiana State Board, elected as the Chair for three consecutive years.

In central Louisiana, Dallas is a member and previous board chair of the Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce and has been an active Rotarian in the Alexandria Downtown Rotary Club for more than a decade. Dallas is excited for the opportunities that lie ahead for Louisiana. He believes a key part of taking advantage of those opportunities is having a great education system. Dallas feels it is a privilege to serve on the Board of Regents, where his business experience and prior civic service have prepared him to take on the challenge of serving our Louisiana universities. He knows these universities equip our young people with the best education to make the most of every opportunity in life.

A native of DeRidder, Dallas graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He later attained his Property & Casualty and Life & Health insurance licenses.
