Ted H. Glaser III is the Partner and Manager of Glaser Farms Partnership, which he established in 1980 in Pointe Coupee Parish. Over the past four-plus decades, Ted has cultivated soybeans, corn, wheat, and cotton. In 2015, after much research and deliberation, the Partnership decided to diversify the majority of their farm’s acreage into sugarcane to enhance crop stability and production.
Ted has held several leadership positions, including serving as First Vice President of Louisiana’s Farm Bureau and as a board member of Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Company and Farm Bureau Mutual Company. His service extends to roles on the USDA County Committee, Tri Parish Cotton Gin, and Louisiana Farm Bureau Marketing Board.
In recognition of his contributions to agriculture, Ted was named Louisiana’s Farmer of the Year in 2000. He continues to play an active role in the community through his service on the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission.
Before pursuing a career in farming, Ted earned his bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University, where he was a standout running back for the Lions football program. As a senior, he became the first player in school history to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season. He was inducted into the Southeastern Athletics Hall of Fame in 1976. Following graduation, he worked for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, gaining valuable insights into agricultural operations.
He serves as the representative of the 6th Congressional District. He will complete his term of service on December 31, 2030.
