Important Savings Program Transition Information

Important: Each program has a specific transaction cutoff and transition schedule. Review the dates for your program and complete time-sensitive activity before the applicable cutoff. Transactions not completed by the cutoff must be submitted through the new platform after it opens.

The Louisiana Tuition Trust Authority, operating under the auspices of Louisiana Board of Regents, is moving the programs’ day-to-day administration and recordkeeping to Ascensus College Savings Recordkeeping Services, LLC. The Louisiana Board of Regents will continue to oversee all of the START 529, START K12 and ABLE programs.

Wednesday, September 23, 2026
End of day		 Trading, deposits, and other investment transactions on the current platform stop at the end of the day so activity can settle before migration. Transactions not completed by the cutoff must be submitted through the new platform after it opens.
Friday, October 2 through Sunday, October 4, 2026 Account records and assets migrate to the Ascensus platform. Transactions and online account maintenance will be unavailable during the migration.
Monday, October 5, 2026 Ascensus begins day-to-day program administration and the new system becomes available. Register using your new account number, create a new username and password, and download the READYSAVE 529 mobile app if desired.

End of day		 Trading, deposits, and other investment transactions on the current platform stop at the end of the day so activity can settle before migration. Transactions not completed by the cutoff must be submitted through the new platform after it opens.
Friday, October 23 through Sunday, October 25, 2026 Account records and assets migrate to the Ascensus platform. Transactions and online account maintenance will be unavailable during the migration.
Monday, October 26, 2026 Ascensus begins day-to-day program administration, and the new Louisiana ABLE system becomes available. Follow the mailed instructions to register and create new login credentials.

What Account Owners Need to Know

What happens automatically

  • Account transfer: Account records, balances, and transaction histories will move automatically. Account owners do not need to request a transfer.
  • Investment transition: START 529 and START K12 investments will move to the new investment options that most closely match current selections. Louisiana ABLE investments will move to corresponding options available through the upgraded program.
  • Scheduled bank transfers: Existing scheduled bank transfers for START 529 and START K12 will continue.

What you need to do

  1. Complete time-sensitive activity: Submit START 529 and START K12 transactions by September 23, and Louisiana ABLE transactions by October 14.
  2. Create new login credentials: After your program launches, register on the new platform using the instructions and new account information mailed to you.
  3. Update payroll instructions: If you contribute through payroll direct deposit, provide your employer with the updated form or follow the instructions you receive.
  4. Watch for additional information: Review mailed and electronic communications for your new account number, registration steps, and any program-specific instructions.

The programs are administered by the Louisiana Tuition Trust Authority, operating under the Louisiana Board of Regents. Ascensus College Savings Recordkeeping Services, LLC will serve as program manager and provide day-to-day recordkeeping and administrative services beginning on the applicable launch date.
