Official Statement on End of Regular Legislative Session and Higher Education Measures

“We are grateful to the leadership, bill authors and the entire Legislature for supporting our budget and passing historic measures this session that will positively impact our colleges and universities. For decades we have needed comprehensive solutions to tackle higher education’s $2 billion deferred maintenance challenge, improve retirement options for faculty and staff, and reasonably differentiate tuition for high-cost programs. I am proud that, in this Legislative Session, each of those critical needs has been addressed. We look forward to fully implementing these important bills upon the signature of the Governor as we continue our mission of expanding education, workforce training and research in Louisiana.”
